A big part of Germany’s history (well really every country's history) and success can be because of the horses. Horses played a significant role in agriculture, transportation, and recreation throughout history. One of the essential aspects of horse care in Germany is horseshoeing, this is a practice that combines craftsmanship, science, and traditions. The country has a strong culture of farriery, with skilled professionals ensuring the horses are getting proper hoof care in order to maintain health and enhance performance.


Historical Significance of Horseshoeing

Horseshoeing has been part of German equestrian culture for centuries now. In the past, horses were indispensable for farming, military, and transportation, making hoof protection a necessity. Farriers in Germany often use advanced materials like aluminum, rubber, and composite shoes to cater to different disciplines, including dressage, show jumping, and endurance training. The emphasis on biomechanics of the hoof and orthopedic shoeing ensures that horses receive customized hoof care based on specific needs.
